Home and Family is an independent Christchurch based Incorporated Society that works with children, youth, adults and families facing barriers to positive outcomes in their lives. Home & Family was originally established as the Society for the Protection of Women and Children and has been in operation for over 115 years. This family focused, forward thinking still drives Home & Family today and we now offer residential parenting programmes and a counselling service. Residential parenting programme: Home & Family provide 24 hour supported accommodation for parents with babies/children. Emerge Aotearoa provides a wide range of community-based mental health, addiction, disability support and social housing services nationwide. We were formed in 2015 following the merger of two established mental health providers, Richmond Services and Recovery Solutions. We took the best thoughts, principles, and practices from both of these organisations to create a new organisation that would deliver the best possible outcomes, and be influenced and lead by the people who use our services. Emerge Aotearoa employs approximately 1000 people, provides accommodation and support services to approximately 6000 people. The Christchurch City Mission supports, cares and advocates for people marginalised by social and economic factors and who are at risk through poor mental health, family breakdown, unemployment, inadequate housing, financial mismanagement and drug/alcohol abuse. Housing Support: Housing facilitation, saving existing housing, supported group living, and housing for people in recovery from addiction. Community Support: Assist with achievement of life goals, gaining independence in daily living, and managing relationship issues. Service provided in urban and rural districts. Community Integration: Specialist assistance to overcome barriers for those experiencing difficulties moving on from hospital and residential services or requiring complex, individually tailored support to maintain settled community living. Jobconnect: Assists people to move forward with vocational goals, gain and keep employment, and supports people to sustain study and training commitments. Located at 173 Riccarton Road, Christchurch. Activelinks: Support to “get active” through physical activity, sport, recreation or leisure activities. Individual, group or specialised healthy living programmes. Emphasis is on individually tailored nutrition and exercise planning for improved physical wellbeing. Warmline: A telephone peer support service – 0800 899 276.  Peer Support: Short-term support that allows people, through shared experience, to explore issues and make positive plans to move forward. Peer support assists people to make sense of their experiences without medicalising them. Community Housing: Specialist registered Community Housing Provider. Available to people over 18 with mental illness or addiction issues who have high housing need in Christchurch. Emergency Housing: Short-term accomodation and support services for single vulnerable people that have an emergency housing need in Christchurch.

  Pathways Health is contracted by the Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB) to provide a range of community-based and supported accommodation services to support people around practical daily living, leading a healthy life, employment and housing to shape their own future and achieve their goals and dreams. Most of our services are accessed via a referral from specialist mental health services at the CDHB.

Stepping Stone Trust is a not-for-profit Charitable Trust organisation that offers a range of community-based support services for adults, youth and families who live in Canterbury and are affected by mental illness. We provide an Adult and Youth Residential Service, a Crisis and Planned Respite Service and a variety of community based services. Services include: Adult Residential: Supports people (18 years and over) with 24/7 staffing. Referral is through specialist mental health Residential Options Group (ROG). Youth Services: Offers an array of options to support youth aged 14-20 years, including a residential service, respite (short term care), mobile support (visiting youth in their own home). Contact the Referrals Coordinator on 03 337 6644 ext 735 for details. Adult Respite: Planned and crisis respite options for people requiring short term care in a staffed house. Contact the Planned Respite Team to book a room on 03 339 6120. Crisis respite is accessed through GP or specialist mental health referral. Community Support Work (CSW): Visits both youth and adults in their own homes every week. Referrals are made through a central point at www.comcare.org.nz/referral-forms Mobile Medication Service: Delivers medication up to twice a day to people living in their own homes. Specialist mental health case managers and clinicians can refer people to the service. Contact the Service Coordinator on 03 331 6076.
