The Canterbury DHB provides a Single Point of Entry Service (SPOE) for initial contact to streamline the way people are referred to adult mental health services. You can contact SPOE if you are a consumer, family member, GP, or community service and have a general enquiry about mental health services or issues, or if you are worried about your mental health or you are worried about the mental health of a friend or family member. The service will provide initial advice, take referrals for Canterbury DHB adult mental health services as well as forward other referrals to the appropriate service, book assessments for Adult Community Teams, and forward emergency needs to the Psychiatric Emergency Service (PES).
